About Us

Minesweeping at Work is a personal project built by one developer who has spent more hours than he'd like to admit playing classic Minesweeper through long meetings and slow afternoons.

Windows Minesweeper was the perfect office companion — quiet, self-contained, and just engaging enough to keep your brain from going completely numb while someone explained a slide deck for the fourth time. The problem was that it only existed on one machine, required a full install, and left a fairly obvious window open on your screen.

This project started as an attempt to fix that. The goal was simple: a minesweeper game that works on any device, starts instantly, requires no login, and feels low-stakes enough to pick up for two minutes or abandon mid-game without guilt.

What makes it different

The board is infinite — there's no fixed grid to “complete,” so every session is just you versus the mines for as long as you want. Difficulty levels let you choose how much you're willing to think. The leaderboard is there if you want to compete, but you can ignore it entirely.

Why ads

The site is free to play and always will be. The small banner ad helps cover hosting costs, the AI tools used to build and improve the game, and — if things go well — the occasional coffee that keeps the updates coming. No pop-ups, no paywalls — just one quiet banner at the bottom.
